<description>Congratulations to the UK for once again, being the leaders in civilization. From the US, I look across the ocean and see my brothers and sisters in the UK light years beyond the States in protecting animals, caring for animal welfare, and advancing animal rights. I see the Animal Welfare Act as an exciting advancement in the emerging appreciation of animals as sentient beings. I hope I am alive to see the growing acceptance of animal ethics in the western hemisphere, and then in Asia, especially China. What a wonderful world it will be.
