As today is December 21st, as far as I am concerned, this is the middle of winter and from here on, things can only get better.
The evenings will now start to draw out and we shall have more light to view the sprouting bulbs which are already pushing strongly through the frozen earth here in foggy Wales. The daffodils will be flowering soon. Hooray!
And the dog will soon be able to go for her evening walk without the flashing ‘Halo’ collar reserved for times when nights can start to happen from 3.30pm onwards….. and I shall be able to remove mine from my hat-band. A neighbour recently accused me of: ‘Dressing the dog up for Christmas’, not realising that we simply wish to be seen as we struggle along in the gloom.
I don’t want to wish time away, but I really do long for the brighter evenings of Spring.
