When I retired from Education we ‘sailed away into the sunset’ towards the Med., for six years, stopping in France, where we had a wonderful Millennium celebration, Northern Spain, Portugal and Southern Spain on the way, to soak up culture, local food and wine.
After my husband ruptured his Achilles tendon, we sold the boat (a Moody 376, for those with webbed feet!) in Spain
We now ‘sail’ on dry land in a motor home, and in between travels we enjoy our grandchildren, particularly teaching them to cook real food, gardening and a bit of voluntary work with rescued animals… oh yes… and we have a rescued dog of our own who keeps us active too.
We are keen re-cyclers….having been brought up during and after the war in a ‘Make -do-and-mend’ environment. (Even the railings outside our house were chopped down and recycled, 65 years ago!)
I speak French & Spanish, and this winter my aim is to learn Welsh
